Converts in Africa await baptism

Therefore, What Do I Do?

Plant seeds.

Every spring I buy some “seed starters,” little disks of soil that expand when water is added. I usually get a tray of twenty. After I get them nice and wet, the disks grow to about an inch tall and are ready for planting. I push a few seeds down into the soil and leave them near the windowsill. Some grow, and some don’t. I don’t know why. But one thing is certain—if I hadn’t planted any at all, none would grow. So it is with the gospel. We will sow seeds; some will take root, and some won’t. But nothing will happen at all if we don’t sow.

Coming Up . . .

We all eat, and we all wash our feet—but not usually at the same time. However, servants in ancient days would often wash the feet of dinner guests—which is what the next parable is about.
